PBIT chairman applauds GO petroleum for pioneering Aramco, AlBaik’s entry into Pakistan

Lahore: The Chairman of the Punjab Board of Investment and Trade (PBIT), Mr. Muhammad Muntaha Ashraf, met with the Chief Executive Officer of GO Petroleum, Mr. Khalid Riaz, to commend the company’s instrumental role in bringing Saudi energy giant Aramco and the renowned fast-food chain AlBaik to Pakistan.

The meeting underscored the strategic significance of these investments, which are set to bolster Pakistan’s energy and food sectors while deepening economic ties with Saudi Arabia. PBIT reaffirmed its commitment to facilitating foreign investments that drive economic growth, positioning Pakistan as a key player in the regional energy landscape.

Building on this momentum, in October 2024, AlBaik Food System Company signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with GO Petroleum to explore the establishment and operation of AlBaik restaurants across Pakistan. With its signature broast chicken, AlBaik’s entry into the Pakistani market has been highly anticipated by consumers.

Chairman Muhammad Muntaha Ashraf praised CEO Khalid Riaz for these landmark achievements, stating:

“The collaboration between GO Petroleum, Aramco, and AlBaik marks a pivotal moment in strengthening Pakistan’s economic and cultural ties with Saudi Arabia. These initiatives not only fortify our energy sector but also diversify our food industry, introducing new choices for Pakistani consumers.”

He further reiterated PBIT’s unwavering commitment to facilitating such strategic partnerships, emphasizing their crucial role in fostering investment and economic growth across Punjab and Pakistan.
