Mohsin Naqvi Prioritises Safety With New Safe City Projects In Dasu And Chilas

ISLAMABAD: In a high-level meeting chaired by Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, the establishment of Safe City projects in Dasu and Chilas was reviewed. The meeting was convened following directives from the Prime Minister to implement advanced security measures in these regions, similar to those in Islamabad and Lahore.

Minister Naqvi emphasized that the Safe City initiative is not just about installing cameras but involves an integrated system equipped with modern technology and artificial intelligence tools. This project aims to enhance surveillance and ensure robust security in the area.

To oversee the implementation, the Islamabad Police will provide full support. Additionally, the Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA), Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police, and Islamabad Police are collaborating to develop a comprehensive plan.

A special committee, including the Inspector General of Islamabad Police, the Regional Police Officer of Hazara, and a representative from WAPDA, has been formed. This committee has been tasked with presenting a detailed and thorough plan for the Safe City project in Dasu and Chilas within 15 days.

Minister Naqvi reiterated the government’s commitment to safeguarding Chinese citizens working on Pakistan’s development projects, emphasizing that no effort will be spared in fulfilling this responsibility.

The meeting was attended by Federal Interior Secretary Khurram Ali Agha, WAPDA Chairman Lt. Gen. (Retd.) Sajjad Ghani, Islamabad Chief Commissioner Muhammad Ali Randhawa, and Islamabad IG Ali Nasir Rizvi. Additional Chief Secretary Home, Additional IG Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and RPO Hazara participated via video link.
