RAWALPINDI: Chief of Army Staff (COAS), General Syed Asim Munir, chaired the 264th Corps Commanders’ Conference (CCC) convened at GHQ in Rawalpindi.

During the conference, heartfelt tributes were paid to the supreme sacrifices of Shuhadas, including officers, soldiers of the Armed Forces, Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs), and citizens who sacrificed their lives for the nation’s peace and stability.

COAS expressed appreciation for the relentless efforts of the Pakistan Army and LEAs in thwarting multiple terrorist attacks and neutralizing key terrorist commanders during ongoing counterterrorism operations. He directed commanders to proactively deny any space to terrorists, affirming the nation’s determination to permanently eliminate this menace.

The forum condemned the heartless terrorist attack against Chinese nationals in Besham and the heinous killings of innocent civilians in Balochistan. Participants were briefed on the threat posed by terrorist groups operating from Afghanistan, acting as proxies against Pakistan’s economic interests, particularly the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor.

Expressing grave concern over Indian aggression in Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), the forum reiterated Pakistan’s unwavering support for Kashmiri brothers and sisters. Solidarity was extended to the people of Palestine, condemning human rights violations, war crimes, and genocide in Gaza.

Amid escalating tensions in the Middle East, the forum warned of a wider regional conflict if de-escalation measures were not taken immediately.

Concern was raised over malicious propaganda aimed at demoralizing the Armed Forces, with emphasis on countering unfounded allegations against LEAs and Security Forces.

The forum pledged full support to the government’s efforts for sustainable socioeconomic growth, including combating illegal activities such as smuggling, hoarding, electricity theft, and ensuring the safe repatriation of illegal foreigners.

COAS directed field commanders to uphold the highest standards of operational preparedness, motivation, and professional excellence through objective training within their respective units.
