ANF Apprehends Six Women Involved In Drug Smuggling

LAHORE: In a series of operations conducted last week, the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) arrested six women suspected of involvement in drug smuggling, The Scoop has learnt.

ANF officials expressed deep concern about the increasing participation of women in criminal activities. The operations yielded substantial results, with the recovery of over 26 kilograms of narcotics from the apprehended women, who were allegedly linked to inter-provincial and international drug smuggling networks.

One operation at Lahore’s Allama Iqbal International Airport led to the arrest of Sumera, a resident of Lahore, attempting to board a flight to Oman. ANF personnel discovered 87 capsules filled with heroin concealed in her belly.

At Multan airport, two individuals, Aqsa from Sahiwal and Noor Ahmad, were intercepted by ANF personnel before their departure to Qatar. Upon checking their luggage, officials claimed to have recovered 855 grams of ice.

Another operation at Lahore’s Allama Iqbal International Airport resulted in the arrest of Saadia from Karachi, who was about to board a flight to Bahrain. ANF officials reported the recovery of 1.942 kilograms of ice from her bag.

In Aurangi Town area of Karachi, ANF personnel arrested two women, Saima and Shareefan, confiscating 22.8 kilograms of charas from their possession.

Additionally, Ameena, a resident of Peshawar, was taken into custody from Chungi No 26, a suburban area of Islamabad. ANF officials reported the recovery of 500 grams of charas and 250 grams of ice from her. The arrests and seizures underscore the ongoing efforts to combat drug trafficking and apprehend individuals involved in these illegal activities.
