Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi’s Visit Strengthens Anti-Terror Efforts In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi visited the Central Police Office in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, focusing on enhancing data access, cyber cell expansion, and fostering collaboration in the fight against terrorism. Naqvi stressed the importance of data accessibility for KP, which remains at the forefront in combating terrorism. The expansion of KP’s cyber cell and effective data sharing mechanisms were also highlighted. The minister chaired a crucial meeting at the CPO, emphasizing the need to bolster KP’s capabilities. Notable attendees included National Anti-Counter Terrorism Authority (NACTA) head Rai Tahir, Inspector General of Police KP Akhtar Hayat Gandapur, and top officials from the CPO. 

Additional IG Shaukat Abbas briefed on the department’s performance, while the IG KP briefed Naqvi on anti-terror operations.

Moreover, Naqvi arrived in Peshawar and met with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur to discuss the province’s security situation. 

Both federal and provincial ministers reaffirmed their commitment to eradicate terrorism completely and accelerate intelligence-based operations against terrorists.Expressing sorrow over the loss of lives in the suicide attacks targeting Chinese nationals, Minister Naqvi emphasized solidarity with the Chinese government, people, and the families of the deceased. 

He asserted that the perpetrators of attacks on Chinese citizens will not escape punishment. 

Minister Naqvi also directed for effective coordination to apprehend facilitators of such attacks and reiterated Pakistan’s resolve to combat terrorism.

The meeting highlighted the priority of ensuring the safety and security of the people of KP. Minister Gandapur emphasized that all available resources will be utilized to protect lives and property. 

He underscored that KP has been most affected by terrorism and emphasized the need for collaboration to counter this menace effectively.
