Sidhu Moosewala’s Father Alleges Harassment By Punjab Government Regarding Son’s Birth

After celebrating the arrival of their son through In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) in 2022, Balkur and Charan Kaur Singh, parents of the late Sidhu Moosewala, are now entangled in a fresh dispute.

Balkur Singh has accused the Punjab government of casting doubts on the legitimacy of their newborn son and subjecting them to bureaucratic hassles for documentation.

The birth of their child, a ray of hope following the tragic loss of their only son Sidhu Moosewala in 2022, was met with profound joy by both the family and fans. Charan Kaur, aged 58, opted for IVF to conceive their second child.

However, their elation turned into exasperation when the Punjab government allegedly began probing the circumstances of the birth and demanding paperwork.

In a social media video message, Balkur Singh expressed his anguish and disillusionment.

“Since morning, the government has been causing me distress,” he lamented, “inquiring about the legality of the birth.” He further appealed to the Chief Minister to grant them privacy and peace.

Singh underscored his adherence to the law, citing his background as an ex-serviceman. He maintained his innocence and offered full cooperation with any inquiry, even willingness to face incarceration if found guilty.

This controversy arises from regulations imposed by India’s Union Health Ministry, which limits IVF procedures for women over 50 years old. Charan Kaur’s age exceeds this threshold, prompting concerns from authorities.

The Punjab government has reportedly requested a comprehensive report on the IVF treatment from the Health Ministry. As the situation unfolds, the Singhs’ ability to navigate these obstacles and find tranquility amidst the controversy remains uncertain.
