Army Chief General Syed Asim Munir led 262nd Corps Commanders Conference on Wednesday where in a resounding display of appreciation, conference participants lauded the sacrifices of armed forces officers, youth, law enforcement agencies, and civilians, including martyrs who offered their lives to ensure peace and security in the country.
The forum pledged that, “Pakistan will confront with full force any terrorists, facilitators, and elements working on the signals of hostile forces to destabilize the nation.”
“Pakistan’s sovereignty and regional integrity are sacred and invincible,” declared the Army Chief.
“Pakistan stands for mutual harmony with all nations,” emphasized the Army Chief.
“No compromise will be made on the autonomy, national dignity, and the security of the Pakistani people,” reiterated the Army Chief.
The conference also briefed participants on India’s heinous campaign beyond regional and international norms, ongoing state-sponsored terrorism, and the grave mission to target Pakistani citizens.
The forum declared, “International laws must openly condemn India’s blatant violations and expose its true face to the world.”
“The global community has expressed strong reservations against India’s criminal behavior and the use of state power for killings and looting worldwide,” stated the conference participants.
Expressing solidarity with the people of Palestine and Gaza, the forum acknowledged the extreme negative effects of the conflict and assessed the possibilities of escalation in the region.
The forum urgently called for an immediate ceasefire and a peaceful resolution to the ongoing conflict in Palestine.
Reaffirming support for the self-determination rights of Kashmiris in the occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the conference participants reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to providing moral, political, and diplomatic support according to international laws and UN conventions.
The forum also discussed the appointment of the Pakistan Army for assistance in the peaceful conduct of the 2024 general elections.
“The Pakistan Army will fulfill its constitutional mandate and follow the directives of the Election Commission of Pakistan,” affirmed the forum.
“No one will be allowed to use violence in the name of political activism, and any sabotage of free and fair democratic elections will not be tolerated,” warned the conference participants.
The forum addressed issues such as smuggling, hoarding, money laundering, electricity theft, and illegal migration, vowing to take action against unlawful activities and criminal mafias for the benefit and welfare of the economy and the people.
The conference participants emphasized the positive impact of such measures on the economy and the well-being of the people, stressing the need to continue these efforts without hindrance.
The forum also received a briefing on the operational readiness of formations.
The Army Chief urged formation commanders to maintain professional standards, ensure optimal performance during training, and focus on the morale and well-being of the military youth.
