Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has issued a directive to the National Database Registration Authority (NADRA) to block mobile SIMs linked to invalid and expired identity cards.

During his recent visit to NADRA headquarters, Minister Naqvi emphasized the establishment of model NADRA offices across the country, similar to Punjab’s model police stations, to enhance service delivery and public convenience. He stressed the importance of prioritizing citizens’ data security and instructed NADRA to waive fees for death certificates to facilitate the public.

Naqvi also applauded NADRA Chairman Lieutenant General Muhammad Munir Afsar for his leadership in transforming the organization into a more user-friendly institution. As part of a plantation campaign, the minister planted saplings at the NADRA headquarters.

Chairman Afsar presented NADRA’s roadmap for 2024-2025, highlighting plans for modernising security infrastructure, enhancing cyber security measures, and improving online registration services for both local citizens and Pakistanis residing abroad.

Additionally, NADRA aims to introduce self-service kiosks and extend operating hours at selected centres to further streamline service delivery.
