LONDON: Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi who is in London met with Mayor Sadiq Khan to discuss matters of mutual interest and the current political situation. During the meeting, they had a special conversation about cricket. Naqvi invited Mayor Khan to visit Pakistan.
The meeting was attended by Pakistani High Commissioner to the UK, Dr. Mohammad Faisal, and the British High Commissioner to Pakistan, Jane Marriott.
Additionally, a reception was held at Pakistan House in London by Dr. Mohammad Faisal in honour of the national cricket team. The event was graced by Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi as the chief guest. London Mayor Sadiq Khan and British High Commissioner Jane Marriott also attended the event.
Former Prime Minister Anwar-ul-Haq Kakar, Chief Minister of Balochistan Sarfaraz Bugti, and a large number of Pakistani expatriates in the UK were also present.
Addressing the event, Mohsin Naqvi emphasised the importance of national support for the cricket team, stating, “The national cricket team needs the support of the nation at this time. The players are confident and will certainly perform well.”
He further added, “Every Pakistani should show that they stand with the team regardless of win or loss. With this approach, the players will surely bring home the World Cup from the USA.”
Naqvi urged, “Trust in our players. They will play well and we should remain hopeful that they will win the World Cup.”
Mayor Sadiq Khan and High Commissioner Jane Marriott also spoke at the event.
