ISLAMABAD: Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has unveiled a transformative infrastructure initiative, announcing the construction of two underpasses and a signal-free corridor in Islamabad. This ambitious project, aimed at significantly reducing traffic congestion, demonstrates Minister Naqvi’s commitment to enhancing the daily lives of the city’s residents.

The underpasses will be strategically located at Serena Chowk and Srinagar Highway, areas notorious for heavy traffic flow. By implementing these new pathways, the project is expected to greatly ease the daily commute for thousands of citizens, reflecting Minister Naqvi’s forward-thinking approach to urban development.

Minister Naqvi chaired a pivotal meeting to discuss the underpasses project, emphasising the need for designs that accommodate maximum height to ensure accessibility for all types of vehicles. He has entrusted Chairman CDA and Chief Commissioner Islamabad, Muhammad Ali Randhawa, with the oversight of this vital project, highlighting their roles as crucial to its timely and effective completion.

Officials from the National Engineering Services Pakistan (NESPAK) presented the initial designs and briefed the Minister on the project’s specifics. Minister Naqvi underscored the importance of expediting the construction process, urging authorities to complete the project within the shortest possible time frame to swiftly deliver its benefits to the public.

The meeting, attended by Chairman CDA Muhammad Ali Randhawa and NESPAK officials, marked a significant step forward in Islamabad’s urban development. Minister Naqvi’s proactive leadership and dedication to improving infrastructure reflect his unwavering commitment to addressing the city’s evolving needs, promising a smoother and more efficient transportation network for its residents.
