Wassan Predicts Dissolution of NA Within Three Months, Doubts Nawaz Sharif's Return As PM

KARACHI: In a stark forecast, Manzoor Wassan, Senior Vice President of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Sindh, predicted that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif might dissolve the National Assembly within the next three months.

Discussing the country’s political future, Wassan emphasised the critical nature of the upcoming months. He expressed scepticism about Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Nawaz Sharif’s potential to become prime minister under the current political setup.

“After the dissolution of the National Assembly, we will see what kind of setup emerges,” Wassan stated, noting that the remaining provincial assemblies would stay intact.

Wassan also commented on the political climate for Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan and other politicians. “I do not foresee favourable conditions for the PTI founder and other politicians. Even if they receive relief, it is often short-lived. The PTI founder should not remain in a state of delusion,” he warned.

In a parallel prediction, incarcerated PTI founder Imran Khan asserted on March 20 that the current government would last only five or six months. He stated that he would remain in jail until the departure of PML-N supremo to London. Khan reiterated his scepticism about the government’s longevity, predicting its demise within five or six months. He underscored the importance of political stability, cautioning that without it, any borrowed funds from the IMF would be wasted.
