LAHORE: In a disturbing turn of events, the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) urgently appeals to the Chief Election Commissioner for an immediate investigation into a violent attack on the campaign office of PPP Candidate PP-160, Mian Misbah Ur Rehman, allegedly orchestrated by PML-N NA-127 Candidate Ataullah Tarar.

The brazen assault occurred as PPP members were actively engaged in campaign activities, preparing for an upcoming training session. Atta Tarar, accompanied by over 300 individuals, forcefully entered the PPP candidate’s office in Lahore. The PPP candidate’s team was left reeling from the unexpected attack, resulting in injuries to PPP voters and members.

Senator Taj Haider, In-charge of the Central Election Cell for PPP, issued a stern statement expressing deep concern over the ongoing violent acts orchestrated by PML-N candidates, particularly Atta Tarar. The incident has added to a growing pattern of harassment and intimidation targeting PPP voters and candidates in Punjab.

In the urgent appeal to the Chief Election Commissioner, Senator Taj Haider highlights the apparent complicity of Punjab police personnel in facilitating the unlawful activities of Atta Tarar and his goons. The PPP accuses the PML-N of creating an atmosphere of fear and intimidation within the constituency of NA-127 Lahore, where Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari is the PPP’s contesting candidate.

Moreover, PPP members faced reluctance from the Kot Lakhpat Police Station to register an FIR regarding the criminal acts, leading to a prolonged wait of over three hours. The PPP emphasizes the need for an immediate investigation into the conduct of Atta Tarrar and his associates, demanding appropriate legal consequences for their actions.

The PPP urgently calls upon the Chief Election Commissioner to intervene and ensure a swift and impartial investigation into this incident, safeguarding the democratic principles and integrity of the electoral process.

The situation remains fluid, and further updates will be provided as the story develops.

Violent Assault on PPP Election Office Unveils Political Turmoil

The Pakistan Peoples Party’s (PPP) election office faced a brutal attack orchestrated by Atta Tarar, who boldly points the finger at Maryam Nawaz for her alleged involvement in the assault. The incident comes on the heels of Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s resounding victory, leaving Maryam Nawaz visibly perturbed.

The assault, which unfolded at PPP’s PP-160’s election office, took a vicious turn as, Nadeem Afzal Chan, a key figure in the PPP, claimed that Maryam Nawaz played a pivotal role in orchestrating the violent attack. The brazen act, fueled by political rivalry and the fear of imminent defeat, has sent shockwaves through the political landscape.

Nadeem Afzal Chan, a prominent leader of the PPP, delivered a hard-hitting statement, highlighting the apparent distress Maryam Nawaz is facing following the triumph of Bilawal Bhutto Zardari. The attack on the election office is framed as a desperate move by those fearing the loss of political ground.

As Maryam Nawaz grapples with the aftermath of the assault, Nadeem Afzal Chan issued a stern warning, suggesting that the coming days hold a reckoning for the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N). February 8 has been earmarked as a decisive day, signaling potential political upheaval in Punjab.

The incident underscores the volatile nature of Pakistani politics, with leaders resorting to aggressive tactics amid rising tensions. The PPP, despite the attack, remains undeterred, emphasizing a commitment to the democratic process as the nation watches closely, awaiting further developments in this intense political saga.

PPP leaders declare defeat of terror at the central office. They demand Election Commission’s immediate notice on NA-127 as a high-profile constituency prone to terrorism and abduction. Lahore Police urged to file FIR swiftly. PPP leaders express concern over police response during the incident at PPP 160’s election office.

Senior leaders Raza Rabbani, Chaudhry Aslam Gul, and Faisal Mir address a joint press conference, outlining the party’s future course of action. The Lahore Division of PPP schedules an emergency meeting for district, zonal, and sub-organizational heads on Sunday, February 5, at 1 PM.

PPP leaders criticize the government for a lackluster response, urging a fair and free election on February 8. They emphasize the incident as an act by defeated elements and assure Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s success. PPP alleges armed attack by Ata Tarar and Fahad on PPP 160’s election office, calling for legal action against perpetrators.

PPP leaders highlight incidents of violence in Karachi, including the attack on Naveed Jio’s car. They demand Election Commission, CCPO Lahore, and ISI investigations. Stolen items displayed on social media. Ata Tarar accused of vote-buying, using religious oaths to distribute money.

PPP leaders assert that their leadership would have responded if not hindered, blaming the government for N-League’s influence over the concerned police station. They express concern over a security threat, urging candidates and workers to remain vigilant for the sake of public safety.

Atta Tarar’s video surfaces, allegedly showing the distribution of money to voters, raising concerns about the integrity of the electoral process. PPP leaders condemn this attempt to buy votes and vow to continue the election process unabated, insisting on maintaining the momentum to safeguard democratic values.
