Iranian People Will Never Forget Pakistan’s Deep Concern And Grief Over President Raisi’s Death: Reza Amiri Moghadam

ISLAMABAD: His Excellency Reza Amiri Moghadam, Ambassador of Iran, has extended his heartfelt gratitude to the Government of Pakistan and its people for their expressions of sympathy and solidarity following the martyrdom of President Seyed Ebrahim Raisi, Foreign Minister Hussain Amirabdullahian, and other dignitaries in a tragic helicopter crash.

The Ambassador conveyed his sentiments during a meeting with Ahsan Zafar Bakhtawari, President of the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI), who visited the Iranian Embassy along with a delegation to offer condolences for the tragic loss.

Describing Pakistan as a great friend of Iran, the Ambassador assured that President Raisi’s vision of strengthening and promoting Pakistan-Iran relations would continue. He affirmed that all agreements signed during President Raisi’s recent visit to Pakistan would be implemented in letter and spirit, and there would be no change in Iran’s foreign policy. He specifically thanked the President and Prime Minister of Pakistan for their heartfelt concern and grief over the tragedy.

ICCI President Ahsan Zafar Bakhtawari praised the late President Raisi as a bold, sincere, and dedicated leader of the Islamic world. He highlighted Raisi’s efforts for peace and his services to the nation, noting that the restoration of diplomatic ties with Saudi Arabia was one of Raisi’s significant achievements for the unity of the Muslim Ummah, elevating his stature as a true leader of the Islamic world. Bakhtawari also recalled Raisi’s clear stance on the Palestine issue.

Bakhtawari emphasized that President Raisi was keen to boost Pakistan-Iran trade up to $10 billion, a goal that the ICCI is determined to achieve in his honor. He expressed that the martyrdom of President Raisi is a loss not only for Iran but for the entire Muslim world, and he prayed for the highest place in Jannah for the departed souls.

The President of ICCI also recorded his sentiments in the Condolence Book at the Embassy. Former ICCI President Zafar Bakhtawari added that the late President was a statesman whose contributions to his country and efforts in reinforcing Pakistan-Iran relations and regional cooperation would always be remembered. Executive member Maqsood Tabish highlighted Raisi’s remarkable journey from being an orphan to becoming the President of Iran.

ICCI members Imran Cheenna and Khalid Chaudhry were also part of the delegation.
