LAHORE: Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi made an unexpected visit to the Garden Town Passport Office, which remains open 24/7, even during holidays.
During his visit, Minister Naqvi observed that the notorious agent mafia was absent, and there were no long queues or unnecessary waiting times. The transformation of the Garden Town Passport Office has been well-received by the citizens, who expressed their happiness.
Minister Naqvi took the time to meet with citizens who were there to apply for passports. Residents of Garden Town, such as Mian Dadu, expressed their gratitude, highlighting that their voices had been heard after 30 years. “Thanks to you, the agent mafia has been eliminated, and the neighborhood is very pleased. You are our benefactor,” said Mian Dadu. He further added, “You are in our prayers and hearts. Your kindness has resolved the issue, bringing peace to the residents. May Allah grant you more opportunities to serve the people.”
Minister Naqvi listened to the concerns of an elderly citizen and instructed the Deputy Director of the Passport Office to resolve the matter promptly. He also inquired about the passport application process from other citizens and issued directives to the office in charge to provide additional facilities to the public.
“The 24-hour operation of the Garden Town Passport Office has greatly facilitated the citizens,” said Naqvi. “The rush has decreased, and citizens no longer face the hassle of long waits. We will further simplify the passport application process.”
Interior Minister also paid tribute to Constable Noorullah
Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi paid tribute to Constable Noorullah, who was martyred by terrorists in Nowshera’s Azakhel police station area. Minister Naqvi extended heartfelt condolences to the family of the martyred constable, saying, “Constable Noorullah achieved the highest rank of martyrdom.” He honored Noorullah’s sacrifice and praised the bravery of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police officers and soldiers, stating that they have made history by standing on the front lines in the fight against terrorism.
