ISLAMABAD: The longstanding and brotherly ties between Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates, rooted in shared history, religion, and culture, continue to grow stronger over time, benefiting the people of both nations.

This sentiment was expressed by Ahsan Zafar Bakhtawari, President of the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI), during a meeting with Mohammad Sultan AlKaitoob, Deputy Head of Mission at the UAE Embassy.

During their discussion, both parties explored avenues for joint economic cooperation, ways to strengthen bilateral relations, and investment opportunities in industry, trade, tourism, and education sectors.

Ahsan Zafar Bakhtawari highlighted the UAE’s generous relief assistance to Pakistan’s flood victims and the initiation of various development projects by UAE leadership. He informed AlKaitoob that the ICCI is planning an International Tourism Summit in Northern Areas in the first week of July 2024.

This event aims to showcase the rich tourism potential of the area and is expected to be attended by over twenty ambassadors from friendly countries. Bakhtawari expressed pride at the prospect of the UAE Ambassador or a representative participating in the summit.

Mohammad Sultan AlKaitoob emphasized the importance of the meeting as a platform to discuss opportunities for cooperation and partnership. He stressed that the business communities of Pakistan and the UAE must explore new avenues of cooperation to benefit both nations by increasing trade volumes.

AlKaitoob also praised the Pakistani people for their care and hard work, noting that exchanging specific information about investment areas would further enhance connectivity between the two countries.

ICCI Group leader Khalid Iqbal Malik highlighted the significant potential to strengthen existing social, cultural, and economic ties. Secretary General of the United Business Group, Zafar Zafar Bakhtawari, also spoke about the historic and cordial relationship between Pakistan and the UAE, citing the successful and result-oriented ICCI Business Opportunities Conference held in the UAE.
